If you have missed your period and have any of these other symptoms, you may be pregnant. Request a NorthStar appointment today to get information about your next steps.
At NorthStar Women’s Center, you will be offered a lab-quality pregnancy test, an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy (unless there is a medical reason not to do one) and STI/STD testing for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia to help you protect your reproductive/maternal health – all at NO COST to you.
At NorthStar WC, it is important for every woman to feel safe and supported. You may bring a support person to your appointment. For the safety of all women in the center, you will be asked to let us know ahead of time who will be accompanying you. At the beginning of the appointment, you will be taken back to speak with your Advocate alone. We will be asking questions for the purpose of providing the information you may not want to share the answers with your support person. The staff at NorthStar will also begin the ultrasound with you alone to ensure that you have complete control of what information you wish to share about your pregnancy. However, once you are alone with your Advocate, you may request to have your support person brought in at any time. You are in control. You are in the driver’s seat.
Children are always welcome at the center, and the staff understands that childcare can be difficult to arrange. However, because of the nature of your appointment, a second adult must accompany you on your visit and supervise your little ones. NorthStar WC wants you to be completely at ease for your appointment so you can get the information you need.
Yes, you can. Pregnant women can become infected with the same STD’s as women who are not pregnant. There is no additional protection for either you or the pregnancy. NorthStar offers testing and treatment for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia at no cost to you. The medical staff at NorthStar can help you assess your risk and refer you for further testing. Protecting your reproductive health is important, today and for your future.
No, your information is protected at NorthStar WC. All services provided are at no cost to you. Your insurance company will not be billed.
It is important to us that you are safe and supported. At your first visit, you will receive a Personalized Solutions Assessment with referrals that your Advocate feels are important next steps for you, based on the information you provide. The staff will follow up with you to provide further referrals and education to assist you in creating your support system, step by step. No matter what you decide about your pregnancy, NorthStar will answer questions and provide resources to assist you in deciding what’s next.
If you are considering abortion, you will need to be provided with counseling materials and wait for 24 hours. Why not get the information you need from an organization that does NOT profit from your decision? Find out what is happening in YOUR body. Get information specific to YOUR health history and then take time to make YOUR decision.
